In which I realize I haven't given an update in some time...

I'm sorry- I know I haven't posted in a little while...at least it seems it has been a little while. But I am sure you know by now that lack of posting simply means, lack of time. I would tell you that I have been busy preparing to leave for Alabama- but I'm sure you don't want to hear that-again. Instead, I will share some pictures with you that I have been trying to take, as I try and make the most out of my time left here at home.  She said, "I just want to spend time you you...we can do somethings special,.." I finished crocheting the first of four blankets I hope to take with me to Alabama:)  While the angle is weird and my arm is stuck in the way- this picture captures the fun we had on the tree swing:)  This past Tuesday was my last day teaching piano until I get back!                  I'm going to miss him!  There is something so refreshing about watching the sun rise and wake the world.   Easter Sunday- celebrating the resurrection of Christ! And

Sunrise, Sunset

My sister Sophia and I got up at 6:00am and ran to a nearby church to watch the sun rise. No, 6 am is not that  early, but we don't normally get up then. More like 7:00;) But it was good to be up with the sun. The run was good too:) I normally walk a couple miles on the days when I get home before the sun sets:)  And that was the sunset last night. My brother Josh and I drove up to a near by farm that sits on a hill, and watched the sun set:)

How quickly my focus shifts to others...(not what you may think)

While at work today, I was a little bored, and I wanted to read. I always bring my Bible in my bag I take to work, so I figured I would read that:) I decided to read the proverb of the day (proverbs 9). Proverbs 9 talks about wisdom and foolishness. It speaks of how you will only hurt yourself by rebuking a scoffer. But if you instruct a wise man, he will love you. As I thought about that- the thought came to mind that I knew a few people who should read that passage. But the Lord quickly showed me my own heart attitude. Woe is me that I should think that so quickly! How do I respond when others point out foolishness in my own life? Or do others not point it out because I have shown myself to be prideful and arrogant? Always thinking I am right... My first thought should not concern those who I think need it- but just focused one person, and that's me. None of us are as wise as we should or could be. We are all prideful at times, and that was a good reminder to me!  That was a hear

Music- we love it

It's true- we girls love doing music together. Yes, there are times when we have our little spats, but overall- we enjoy every minute of it. We were priveleged and blessed to be able to do some music at a local Thursday night fellowship and encourage other believers. It's always a joy to do music at Scottie's.  With all the change coming on soon, we thought a picture before leaving for tonight's service would be appropriate.  We are all sad that I won't be here to do music most of the summer- but it won't be forever. Music is a part of us. If you are interested in hearing any of our music from tonight- I'm going to try and upload some to YouTube, on my page. (Which you can find by typing in my name;)  And with that- it's a goodnight to y'all.  Until next time,  Elise

If Our Hearts Were Humble

As I was sitting on the porch steps this morning I was thinking about all of those who are voting today- in Virginia as well as some other states- I was thinking about what the outcome of the president election might be, and how our country is in quite a mess. And these words came to mind; they are from a hymn, that I am afraid not many know. "If My people's hearts are humbled, if they pray and seek My face,  If they turn away from evil, I will not withhold My grace.  I will hear their prayers from heaven, I will pardon every sin.  If my people's hearts are humbled, I will surely heal their land. " "Then My eyes will see their sorrow, then My ears will hear their plea.  If my people's hearts are humbled, I will set their nation free.  If My people's hearts are humbled, If they pray and seek My face,  If they turn away from evil, I will not withhold My grace."  And that song is taken from 2 Chronicles 7:14 "If My people who are calle
