Early this year, in February, we entered into kidding season. We have kept dairy goats for the past nine years and after purchasing a milk cow this past fall, we began to sell our goats as they kidded. It has been sad to sell them after practically growing up with them, but it is something to get used to when living on a farm. I cherish the moments I spent helping the does while they were in labor, for I know I will not have that opportunity again. I love baby goats and spent plenty of time holding them. I thank God for the time I have spent helping my family on the small farm here in the south. I thought I would share some of the picture I took while helping with one of the births we had early this year. The doe had three baby girls:)
(above) The mama is in labor here and was so sweetly resting her head on me :)
It was quite windy and cold out there and I was cold and wet due to the afterbirth all over my skirt :)
Yes, I took all the pictures myself because I was the only one down there :) The goats did not mind.

~ Until next time,
